HUE: “Back to the wild” field trip for students
On April 6-7, CHOICE and WildAid Vietnam coordinated to deploy the experiential extracurricular program “Back to the wild” at Bach Ma National Park for 40 students of Tran Cao Van Secondary School and Thong Nhat Secondary School.
The field trip let students to learn more deeply about the tropical forest ecosystem along with rare flora and fauna species, as well as local culture and communities living in the vicinity of the forest. The students also visited the Central Coast Nature Museum, the Visitor Center at Bach Ma National Park, the model display area of local endemic wild animals, and other display areas.
Moreover, the students also had the opportunity to experience trekking in the primeval forest at Bach Ma National Park and explore Hai Vong Dai, Do Quyen Waterfall and many other magnificent wild natural spots in the forest.
With the enthusiastic support of the forest rangers, the students were updated with a lot of knowledge about the flora and fauna ecosystem of the National Park, as well as the principles when travelling in the forest in order to protect wild animals here.
Hanh Nhien, a student at Thong Nhat Secondary School, shared: “The trip to Bach Ma was quite challenging but very fun and rewarding. I can immerse myself in nature and learn new information about flora and fauna. I will introduce Bach Ma National Park to my friends and relatives, as well as continue to call on everyone not to hunt and eat wild animals.”
In addition, students also participated in a number of games to summarize their knowledge about wildlife and nature after the field trip.
The program helps raise the awareness of students about endangered and rare wild animals that need to be protected, as well as nurture love and protection for animals and the natural environment.
