A FAMILY IN KY ANH ILLEGALLY KEEPING WILD ANIMALS

(Baohatinh.vn) – 9 individuals Asian palm civet were kept in captivity in the premises of Mr. Nguyen Tien Vinh’s family (SN 1985, residing in Vinh Long village, Ky Khang commune, Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh province).

These wild animals belong to group IIB, are endangered, rare and need to be protected.

On the morning of September 26, the Ky Khang Commune Police chaired and coordinated with the Ky Anh District Police Department and the District Forest Protection Department to inspect and detect 9 Asian palm civet being kept in captivity in the family premises. Nguyen Tien Vinh’s family in Vinh Long village.

These wild animals weigh 25.2 kg, belong to group IIB, are endangered, rare and need to be protected.

At the time of inspection, Mr. Nguyen Tien Vinh could not present any documents related to the captive breeding of wild animals.

Total weight of 9 Asian palm civets is 25.2 kg

Through struggle, Mr. Vinh admitted that, in early 2022, when going to the forest to catch bees to get honey, he discovered 3 small Asian palm civets in the tree, then brought them home to raise.

The case is being completed by the Ky Anh District Police Department to handle according to regulations.
