ILLEGALLY TRANSPORTING WILD ANIMALS CAUGHT IN KONTUM
Cao Trong Nghia residing in Quang Binh and Hoang Van Nghiep residing in Yen Bai province were arrested by the Border Guard Command of Kon Tum province while on the way to transport artillery and 5 pangolins from Laos to Vietnam.

On August 13, in Iec village, Po Y commune, Ngoc Hoi district, Kon Tum Province Border Guard Command detected and arrested two subjects illegally transporting firecrackers and wildlife across the border.
Specifically, at about 1:30 a.m. on the same day, the Provincial Border Guard Command Kon Tum coordinated with Bo Y international border gate border guard station and Ngoc Hoi district police were patrolling when they discovered two subjects, Cao Trong Nghia (45 years old, residing in Quang Binh province) and Hoang Van Nghiep (42 years old, residing in the province) Yen Bai) has the act of illegally transporting prohibited goods.
During the inspection, functional forces discovered the objects were transporting two red sacks, inside each sack containing 20 cubes weighing 64kg, with the symbol Happy Boom Celebration cake 49 shoot suspected to be firecrackers and two Blue sack, outside with the words “Made in Thailand”, inside there are 5 living wild animals, suspected to be pangolins.
Through struggle, the object Cao Trong Nghia and Hoang Van Nghiep admitted transporting and renting the above exhibits from Laos to Vietnam for a man named Dung (whose identity and background is unknown) for 6 million VND.
Mr. Nghia exchanged and discussed with Mr. Hoang Van Nghiep to join in transporting the above exhibits, and will split the transportation fee in half.
The subjects were on the way to illegally transport the above evidences from Laos to Vietnam, to the Bo Y international border gate area (in Iec village, Po Y commune, Ngoc Hoi district) when they were discovered and arrested by the functional forces.
At about 2:00 a.m. on the same day, the functional forces continued to patrol in Iec village, Po Y commune, and discovered three blue sacks hidden at the tree stump by the roadside.
The patrol team opened the sacks and discovered that inside contained 75 cubes, weighing 120kg, suspected to be cannons.
Currently, the functional force has brought two subjects and exhibits to the unit for further investigation and handling of the case.
