Releasing 74 wild birds back into the wild

In a recent meaningful effort to protect wildlife and maintain ecological balance, Tam Dao National Park, in collaboration with the Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Center, has successfully released 74 birds of 12 species back into their natural habitat. These birds were handed over to the Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Center by organizations and individuals for care before being released back into the wild in accordance with the law.

Among these, there are 7 species listed in Group IIB of the Government’s list of endangered and rare flora and fauna, including:

  • Silver-cheeked Laughingthrush (Pterorhinus chinensis)
  • Silver-eared Mesia (Leiothrix argentauris)
  • Rufous-tailed Laughingthrush (Trochalopteron milnei)
  • Red-faced Liocichla (Liocichla ripponi)
  • Silver-eared Laughingthrush (Trochalopteron melanostigma)
  • Kite (Milvus migrans)

Releasing wildlife not only helps reduce the burden on rescue centers but also supports biodiversity conservation. Through these release activities, these rare bird species have the opportunity to restore their populations, contribute to the balance of the food chain, and improve the quality of the natural environment.

Beyond wildlife release, Tam Dao National Park also takes this opportunity to monitor biodiversity and integrate environmental education activities. These programs are specifically targeted at elementary school students – the young generation with the potential to change the future.

By participating in practical activities such as observing wild birds, learning about the role of animals in the ecosystem, and learning about endangered species, students are inspired to love nature and develop a sense of environmental protection. This contributes to building a sustainable foundation for future conservation efforts.

Each of us can contribute to protecting wildlife and the environment through small actions. Let’s work together to build a more sustainable living environment where humans and nature can coexist harmoniously.
