PLASTIC BEAST
“Plastic Beast” originated from the reality of seemingly harmless objects floating on the surface of rivers, seas, and oceans throughout Vietnam, yet harboring unforeseen dangers. The project uses the term “Plastic Beast” to draw attention and reveal the alarming truth: Plastic Beasts are actually single-use plastic waste that we discard into the environment every day without realizing the consequences. The campaign aims to raise awareness about plastic pollution and inspire community action.

The “Plastic Beast” campaign is implemented by the Center for Action and Linkage for Environment and Development (CHANGE), as part of the project “Rethinking Plastic – Circular Economy Solutions for Marine Litter.”
The displayed “Plastic Beast” model is created from 37 kilograms of plastic—the average amount of plastic waste produced by a Vietnamese person each year.
On Earth Day, April 22nd, CHANGE officially launched the innovative “Plastic Beast” communication campaign, with the overarching message of “stop creating plastic beasts” by reducing single-use plastic consumption and taking collective action to combat the worsening plastic pollution crisis.
Many Ho Chi Minh City residents have visited the “Plastic Beast” model and various stalls featuring eco-friendly products at the shopping center. The model aims to raise awareness about plastic pollution and encourage people to reduce their use of single-use plastics.
